Lauren Storey – Osteopath Bsc(hons)OstMed, DO, DPO, ND

Lauren benefited from osteopathy early on in my life and was impressed by the philosophy of working with the body physically to reach its full health potential and so she enrolled to study osteopathy. Lauren completed the 4 year course at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, receiving her Bsc(hons) Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. After an 18 month spell working in New Zealand she began to develop a much deeper interest in the treatment of children and women during pregnancy, so returned to England to study at the Osteopathic Centre for Children gaining a Diploma with distinction in paediatric osteopathy. Lauren stayed at the clinic for 10 years, becoming a clinical teacher and lecturer which allowed her to continue working along side some of the best paediatric osteopaths in the country.

Since graduating Lauren has completed more than 850 hours of continued professional development designed to further her skills of palpation and treatment including using ‘cranial’ techniques via the Sutherland Cranial College and a foundation level in treatment using the Classical approach via the Institute of Classical Osteopathy. As well as specialising in paediatric and obstetric osteopathy Lauren see's a wide range of patients who are keen to use osteopathy, not only to alleviate musculoskeletal pain, but also to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Lauren has worked at Somacare since 2010 and in 2017 took over ownership and began running the clinic herself.

Lauren is registered with the General Osteopathc Council (No. 6973) and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.

Grant Barnett – Osteopath M.Ost

Grant Barnett – Osteopath M.Ost

Grant is passionate about supporting his patients in achieving their health goals and enjoys working with individuals of all ages. As an osteopath, he primarily treats aches, pains, strains, and injuries resulting from work, daily life, sports, or pregnancy. He has a particular interest in supporting families, especially babies and children.

His approach to treatment is tailored to each patient’s unique needs, combining a variety of osteopathic techniques. These may include joint mobilisation, manipulation, soft tissue massage, and gentle hands-on visceral and cranial osteopathy. Grant also believes in empowering his patients through education, often providing guidance on ergonomics, lifestyle, exercise, and movement to support their well-being beyond treatment sessions.

Grant’s journey to osteopathy was unconventional. After initially studying Sports Administration and Science in Australia, he spent his 20s backpacking and living in several countries while working in business operations across both the commercial and non-profit sectors. These experiences gave him a unique perspective on how stress affects the mind and body—at times working in harmony, but often manifesting physically in challenging ways.

Driven by his passion for osteopathy, Grant earned an integrated master’s degree from the University College of Osteopathy (formerly the British School of Osteopathy). Dedicated to continuous professional development, he has undertaken further training in cranial osteopathy at the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy (SCCO), visceral osteopathy at Barral UK, and paediatrics at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) where he gained a 2 year Diploma in Peadiatric Osteopathy (DPO). As part of his paediatric training, he volunteered at the OCC’s London-based clinics, treating babies, children, and pregnant or postnatal women.

Grant is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (10299) and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.

Grant works at Somacare on Thursdays
