Frequently Asked Questions

We do not have parking on site but there is a public car park within a 3-minute walk. The car park is called Lydekker car park. There is also limited on-street parking.

If you need to cancel your appointment you can call 01582 769411 or email clinic@somacare.co.uk. We require 24 hours’ notice in cancelling the appointment, if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice you may be required to pay the cost of the missed appointment.

We do not need to see any medical documents as we complete a full consultation before beginning treatment but you are welcome to bring any medical documents with you that you feel will be beneficial for your practitioner.

Your first Osteopathic appointment will be up to 60 minutes to allow enough time to complete a full consulation. Any follow up appointments will be up to 45 minutes. 

Yes both of our osteopaths are fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council. You can get more information as to how the council works here.

The clinic is on the first floor, requiring stairs to access it. If you have mobility issues or are unable to walk up stairs feel free to contact the clinic for more information as to how to access osteopathic treatment. 

Loose fitting, comfortable clothing is best for your treatment as you may be required to actively carry out movements or your practitoner may want to passivley check for motion within your joints. 

Yes. We dont have any childcare facilities at the clinic but we do have a waiting room and additional chairs in the spacious treatment room. The practicioners are happy for you to bring your child with you if it is easier for you.

Adult - £70 Consultation; £60 follow up

Child - £60 consultation £55 follow up

 

 

Yes! you can bring anyone with you that will make you feel more comfortable during your treatment.

Yes you can pay by card at the clinic and we also accept cash.

Osteopathy can be beneficial for everyone from a newborn all the way through to the elderly. We approach patients as individuals and as such get people presenting to our clinic with many different conditions and symptoms. You are more than welcome to speak to one of our osteopaths if you are interested as to how osteopathy can help you. 

We do not offer home appointments but have early morning, late night and weekend appointments to be as accomadating and convenient as possible.

Your practitioner will let you know during your consultation how many treatments they feel you will require. The amount of treatments will be dependent on the reason you require the treatment.

There is an offical complaints procedure should you have any issues at Somacare. Your first point of call would be to discuss your concern with your practitioner. If this doesnt resolve your issue you can then speak to our Principle osteopath Lauren Storey. You can do this by calling 01582 769411 or emailing lauren@somacare.co.uk. If this still doesnt resolve your complaint you will then be referred to the Institute of Osteopathy complaints resolution services and finally if your complaint still isn't resolved you will be advised to contact the General Osteopathic Council.
